Dana In Action

We are most grateful for the wonderful action of dana one of our Formal Students, Gary Long, from Long Island, NY has made to our Order from his own artistic talent. The portraits are of our Prior, David Shen-Xi Sensei, and Gary’s teacher, Rev. Brian Chang-Jin Kenna. Gary M. Long is an academically trained professional artist who paints in a post impressionistic realistic American style. His subjects range from the classic landscape tradition with figurative representation to formal portraiture.
Painting since his youth, Gary is inspired by the more complex compositional lighting conditions that can be found in nature. He begins each painting ‘en plein air’ and finishes them in his Long Island Studio.
Gary lives in Cutchogue ,N.Y. on the north fork of Long Island with his wife, who manages the business side of his career including his gallery. He accepts commissioned portraits, landscapes and sells giclees of his original oil paintings.
